The management of Nigeria National League (NNL) has banished Sokoto United and Adamawa United to Kano and Bauchi respectively for the next three home matches.
Sokoto United players were said to have exhibited unruly behaviour in the match against Plateau United at the Kangiwa Memorial Stadium, Sokoto.
Facts available to the NNL showed that the Sokoto-based side assaulted match officials in the said fixture.
The NNL hammer also fell on three of Sokoto United players namely Murtala Ahmadu, Abdulatif Adesina and Louise Intayi.
Another NNL side, Adamawa United will play their next three home matches in Bauchi.
The club's fans were said to have assaulted match officials.
The NNL executive secretary, Abdulrahaman Ayo said the league body will not condone any act capable of bringing the league to disrepute insisting that harsh disciplinary measures will be visited on culprits no matter how highly placed.
"Every case of established act of lawlessness will be punished accordingly no matter who is involved.
"This is in keeping with our resolve to fashion a highly respected league for the country," he said.
The NNL management has approved Fountain FC, sponsored by the Ekiti State government to take over the slot of Divine Warriors.
Fountain FC had earlier made a botched move to take over the slot of struggling Rising Stars.
